Description
GS-01 Specifications

The GS-01 gas spring can be paired with our BRK-14 mounting brackets to work seamlessly alongside the PA-01 mini linear actuator, enhancing its performance in upward load-pushing tasks. These gas-assisted springs utilize compressed nitrogen gas to exert up to 169 lbs of dynamic and static force. A sleek tubular design ensures our GS-01 gas springs fit seamlessly into small and tight indoor spaces, making it ideal for space-constrained environments.

Available in a wide range of strokes from 3” to 13”, our GS-01 can also work as standalone gas springs to meet diverse operational needs. Use cases include front struts, hood struts, hatch struts, trunk struts, gas struts for heavy lids, tool storage box openers, door openers, tv lift cabinet, and stair lift support. High-quality materials such as the stainless steel stroke rod combined with an IP66 rated ingress protection ensure durability and longevity in various environments against dust and water ingress.

MOUNTING OPTIONS:

The BRK-14 bracket, designed for the Mini Linear Actuator, allows for a simple installation process. For more detailed information and specifications, please see our brackets product page.

FAQ
What is the maximum force output of the GS-01 gas spring?

The highest force rating option of our GS-01 gas spring handles up to 169 lbs of dynamic and static force.

Which mounting brackets are compatible with the GS-01?

The BRK-14 mounting brackets are compatible with our GS-01 gas spring.

Can the GS-01 be used without a PA-01 mini linear actuator?

Yes, our GS-01 can also function as standalone gas springs, offering flexibility to meet diverse operational needs without the use of a PA-01 mini linear actuator. How can I determine which Progressive Automations linear actuator is best suited for my application?

Depending on your application, there are different specification requirements you should consider when determining the linear actuator you need. These requirements include force, stroke, speed and mounting dimensions. For detailed actuator information, you can refer to either the datasheet or the specification table located on the selected actuator's product page. Please note that the GS-01 gas spring is only compatible with the PA-01 mini linear actuator. If you're planning to pair the GS-01 with an actuator, the PA-01 is the recommended and supported option. You can also contact us to speak with one of our expert engineers.

What does stroke mean, and how do I know which size to choose?

Stroke refers to the travel distance of the extending rod. To determine the right stroke length for your application, measure the distance from the fully retracted to the fully extended position—that difference is the stroke length you need.If you're pairing the GS-01 with a PA-01 mini linear actuator, we recommend selecting a gas spring with a stroke 1" longer than the actuator’s stroke for optimal performance.
